Is It Time to Reevaluate Your Site?
You buy a new car for $40,000 and drive it off the lot and suddenly it’s worth thousands less than just a few hours ago. If you purchased a work truck then your thinking is, I'm going to make a living with this truck. This truck is going to make me money so it becomes an asset. The value is in what it can do for you. One depreciates rapidly and one is a tool.
The same can be said about a website. Just because you paid $5,000 for a new site doesn't mean you can sell it for $5,000. For a website to have value it needs to work. It needs to help you find and educate potential clients. If it doesn't work, meaning attract new clients for you, then it's time to reevaluate your site. It’s a clunker.
If your work truck (asset) breaks down, you try and get it fixed as quickly as possible. Many times it means renting a vehicle so you can continue to work. It’s a cost of doing business. If your website isn't your number one tool for generating new leads, then you need to fix it as soon as possible. The site now becomes a liability instead of an asset. It's time to fix that scenario. Turn that liability into an asset.
I know many of you will say I'm full of hot air and just trying to sell you a new site with continuous SEO services. Yes, that's exactly what I’m trying to do. Doesn't mean I'm wrong!
If you purchased the wrong van for work and it's causing you to lose money, would you not trade it in on a van that worked better for your business? Of course you would. The loss now becomes a cost of doing business and you can write it off on your taxes. So why would you spend 5 more minutes with a website that's not generating leads? Why frustrate yourself?
How Do You Know If Your Site is a Clunker?
If at least 80% of all your new business isn't coming from your site, then it might be your site. Simply check your Google Analytics to confirm. If you have hundreds of people visiting your site every month but no calls, then it's your site. This is an easy fix. If you have no traffic, then it’s your SEO. Again, a simple fix.
I know you think your site is beautiful, your mom and friends told you so. That may be, but the real question is, is it producing leads for you? If not, it’s a clunker.
If your site is a clunker and you're looking to build a new one that has continuous SEO for $249 a month, then let's talk.
